Somehow I skipped a week and didn’t even realize it. So here is two weeks of happenings:
Reading…sadly to admit the same books. Look away, I’m ashamed. But, I did buy two Kindle romance books *cough, cough* about Scots. I’m not against such books but it’s been a long while. And I think I just need to shake up my reading a bit. Book Riot and Kristen both swear they are great fun and so, I’m taking the plunge.
Loving…my photo teacher diary on Instagram. So far, I’ve been documenting every day I’m at work. Let’s see if I can keep it up for all 184 teaching days.
Enjoying…my girlfriend dates. I made a resolution to be socially selective and spend quality time with friends. Last Sunday I went to see a favorite author, Elizabeth Berg, with my friend. We saw her maybe a decade ago and she was just as wonderful as always. It was like sitting down with a dear friend who is heartfelt and humorous, sharing stories about getting older and being a woman. We bought her compilation of Facebook posts called Make Someone Happy. I highly recommend it!
Watched…A Light Between Oceans with another dear friend. It was just OK. Very depressing. We both didn’t read the book and made peace with the fact that sometimes you just can’t always read the book first. To be honest, we just wanted to see Michael Fassbender on the big screen.
Having fun with…the Bitmoji app. I wasted precious teacher prep time playing with it but I don’t care. It was worth it and I’m having a blast texting with my daughters and friends with just pictures. Of course I chose the Wonder Woman outfit.
And speaking of Wonder Woman, when the book The Secret History of Wonder Woman came out a few years ago, I was so excited to read it. (It was OK) I’ve been a huge fan since I was a little girl and promised Shannon that I would share a picture of me in my homemade Halloween WW costume. I had the Dorothy Hamill haircut and so, the disgusting wig. I was cleaning out a box and found it! So Shannon, here you go, as I promised two years ago:
Somehow, she had red tights and a cape? I know my mom would not let me wear a bustier, bathing suit as depicted on the television version. But I did have my “foil” bracelets and invisibility rope, made out of gold lamé rick rack trim, natch. Ahhh, good times.
