Miscellaneous Monday

ReadingBefore the Fall by Noah Hawley. It was on my TBR list for this month and I picked up an ARC at BEA. It’s releasing tomorrow and will most likely be on some summer reading lists for those who like page-turning suspense/thrillers. I’m enjoying it so far.

Deciding…which nonfiction book I should start reading. My nonfiction holds list came in at the same time and this is the stack I have to choose from:

I will probably start with Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are? by Frans De Waal because it sounds really interesting and there are several holds after me, so it will be months before I get it back.

Loving…my front porch. I’ve never had a front porch before. Ever. We’ve only been in our home for about seven months and haven’t bought “proper” porch furniture but with this gorgeous weather I caved and put some folding chairs out there just so I could enjoy it. And with a book of course.

Thinking…about my INFJ results. I took two quizzes online for fun and both were exactly the same here and here. I think the results are pretty spot-on. Remember those quizzes in magazines and then you had to tally up your score? I loved those. Still do. Have you ever taken one of those MBTI personality-type quizzes?

Listening…to lots of birds. They are in full force around my house and while the head dive-bombing and bird poop graffitied everywhere is driving me nuts, the chatter is so peaceful.

Watching…absolutely nothing. I’m burned out of everything. Netflix-I’ve started so many series and stopped; HGTV-makes me feel indecisive about my house projects and Mega Decks really irritated me; News-nope; Sports- MY hockey team is done; so what else? Maybe I should start watching movies I’ve missed. A few hours and it’s done. Any recommendations?

Needing…to get my exercise back on. After the GOTR 5k I haven’t done any form of activity all week. That needs to change ASAP.

One Little Word…Summer

  1. Perusing your stack I was going to say start with Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are?, and then I read on and it sounds like you will. I’m super intrigued by this and can’t wait to hear what you think.
