I feel like I’m finally getting into a grove with balancing academia reading/homework and reading for pleasure. I’m sneaking in any few minutes I have to crack open books I want to read rather than ‘half-to’ because of ARC deadlines, etc. I purposely did not request any ARCs this month because last month I requested four and while they were good, it was a bit much.
I just started Crossing to Safety by Wallace Stegner and with only a few chapters in, I’m in love. It’s been on my TBR list for a long, long time and for some reason we connected this week. It was available at the library and I needed a “classic”, focusing on characters and relationships. It’s like comfort food at this point and I want to ignore all other responsibilities. I like to call it Backlist Bliss.
That’s it! I’m only reading one book this week (well, aside form my ongoing short stories).
