My posts have been few and far between these past few weeks but I’m still here!
I’ve been looking over all my TBR lists from this year and trying to read as many that are still of interest, specifically 2015 releases. I’m always hoping to finally read that Agatha Christie book or one from a few years back but right now I’m trying to build up my 2015 reads.
Last week I finished Sweetland by Michael Crummey and feel pretty sure it will end up on my favorites for 2015. I’m just having a difficult time putting a post together about it.
This weekend I started a short story collection titled Music For Wartime by Rebecca Makkai. I’m only a few stories in but already don’t even know how to describe them. Some are only a page long and they are a mix of historical fiction, literary fiction and about music. They are not a “quick read” by any means but each to savor.
The other book I picked up was on my TBR list for January called Black River by S.M. Hulse. It’s a suspenseful, contemporary western and not many in my circle have read it so I’m going in completely blind which is fun right about now.
