Book Blog Memes

It’s Monday, June 15. What Are You Reading?

It’s been a bit quiet here on the blog due to some home improvements. It’s been ten years since we’ve been in this house and decided that the entire home needed a face lift. The walls went from bright Mediterranean colors to a more neutral gray and it was jarring at first but now I’m in love. The best thing about a home reno is not just a change in decor or design but I have been cleaning every nook and cranny and purging a lot of unnecessary items. I also found some books squirreled away!

Today is also the very exciting kickoff of #BlumeALong. Judy Blume is one of my most cherished authors having read most of her books as a tween/teen. Here is a post I did about her recently. I haven’t read any of her adult books but that will all change in the next few months with Summer Sisters. If you’d like to join us, you don’t need a blog or have to post about it. Just sign up at Entomology of a Bookworm with whatever social channel you prefer. First up is a reread with Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret on June 26th.

And this stack is what I have currently checked out.  Where to begin…any suggestions, readers?

What are you reading this week?

  1. Yay for #BlumeAlong! I’m so excited to reread both of these, but especially Summer Sisters, as I often cite it as one of my favorite books of all time. It’s been probably 10 years since I’ve last picked it up, so we’ll see if it stands the test of time and age.

As far as your library stack, if your looking for something to fly through, and that you likely won’t be able to put down – may I recommend Girl At War.

  2. Looks like you got a great book stack – I think they all sound great, but I know Girl at War is a wonderful read. Jealous of the home renovation…I bet everything feels so much more settled now!

  3. Nice stack! I would put in my $.02 for How to Start a Fire, but since the Salon discussion of Girl at War is coming up, I’d vote for that first.

Renovation sounds great! I’ve had the same colors forever, but I still love them, so they’re not changing any time soon. I am tearing out my (hated) carpet and finishing the concrete slab, however. We’ll see how that turns out. I do love having a project, no matter what it is. Glad you’re enjoying yours!

  4. Ooh, good luck picking a book from your nice little stack! I started reading Are You There God on the weekend and it’s bringing back memories of when I read it the first time in middle school.
