It’s Monday, April 6th. What Are You Reading?

I’m having serious vacay withdrawal. But it was a lovely, relaxing and fun week with gorgeous weather, so I will take the memories with me as the hectic schedules begin again.

I listened to numerous podcasts and the audio version of The End of the Affair by Graham Greene narrated by the wonderful Colin Firth. (MUCH to say about that experience!) Short story collection The Shell Collector by Anthony Doerr was everything I thought it would be and more. He is a fantastic writer and the stories were nothing short of brilliant. I also finished The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah and remembered why I loved reading her books  years ago.

So, what’s on the horizon for this week? The Round House by Louise Erdrich is the chosen selection for my library book group this month. I also picked up Hammer Head by Nina MacLaughlin and The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson from the library just before we left. Of course the holds came in on our way out of town!

What are you reading this week?

  1. Ooh, Hammer Head is tops on my list, being a total construction nerd, and I’m also looking forward to The Kind Worth Killing. Can’t wait to hear what you think!
I’m just starting Our Endless Numbered Days on the kindle and my tree book is The Whites, by Richard Price. Back to my beloved crime fiction after a bit of a break and it’s so very good.

  2. I absolutely LOVED The Round House – it was my favourite read of 2013. I’m finally reading ‘Stoner’ – and am a little underwhelmed.
