Whew! What a crazy couple of weeks. The kids were off from school, but I worked a more scattered schedule with the holidays and all. Libraries are pretty busy when school is closed and so I was there encouraging children to read during the break.
I also started watching Breaking Bad after being told by many people: “IT IS THE BEST SHOW!!” And I have to admit after marathon watching several seasons, it is excellent. But I did have to say at one point, “no more!” because I was getting a bit of a Walt and Jessie hangover. There is a reason only one episode airs a week. Cramming in as much as possible is a very bad idea. Especially with the high anxiety and intense moments the show is built upon. Downton Abbey also premiered last night with their 5th season so I have that to look forward to this winter. Now that Homeland is done, I need some weekly shows to keep me entertained when not reading.
My first 2015 book in 2015 is Stella by Starlight by Sharon M. Draper. It is a middle grade book set in the Depression era south and I fell in love with Draper’s writing after reading Out Of My Mind last year. This was one ARC I wasn’t going to pass up requesting. I am also reading The Other Language by Francesca Marciano which is nine short stories dealing with travel adventures.
