Book Blog Memes

It’s Monday. What are you reading?

The blog has been quiet lately. Eerily quiet for me but you know that thing called life? Well, it’s been more hectic than usual with kids back to school, some family stuff and more working hours. Books offer me an escape but as of late there hasn’t been much to capture my undivided attention. Is that a reading slump? Life? Or are the books I’m choosing not cutting it?

Book Journey hosts: “It’s Monday, What Are You Reading? and I’ve decided to play along today. Maybe it will help map out my reading and get me excited about September with all the great books to come!

The last book I read and reviewed (I’ve had to abandon ship on several that I won’t mention) was:

I am currently reading an ARC that I picked up at BEA (and through Edelweiss) and so far I’m really enjoying it. It’s quite different from any other book I’ve read and the characters are hilarious! Due out September 2nd.

What’s next? I have a post coming up highlighting many books I am excited for in September so I’ll hold of on any of those. I really must start reading this book that’s been on my TBR list for a long, long time and the fact that I am hosting a book club at my library featuring this title means I need to get going! I hear many mixed reviews and one is that it’s a hard read. Any suggestions?

  1. I’ve found myself caught in a similar life-eating-blog slumpiness recently. Here’s hoping both of us pick up something that grabs our attention and keeps it!

    • Right?! Sorry you are in a similar situation. The Future For Curious People might be the slump fix for me. It’s a good story but not the attention-grabbing-keep-me-up-at-nights-ignore-my-family type book. Good Luck!
