“You MUST read this book!” Sound familiar? The problem is that I seem to do the most gushing over books in my circle of friends and family, hence, this blog. But ever since I started working in a library that must read list gets longer and longer. The diverse group of people that I work with is fantastic and their suggestions cover all genres of literature. This week’s TTT (hosted by The Broke and The Bookish) makes it challenging to narrow it down to only ten. Not sure if I will read these ten but here is what they tell me I MUST read when I asked them all recently:
Unbroken: A War World II Survival Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand Soon to be a movie released on December 25th. I better get at it!
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak has been on several lists here on the blog and I am not allowed to see the movie until the book is read. (According to my co-workers)
Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
We Are Water by Wally Lamb (a co-worker is listening to this on audio during her commute and finds it difficult to stop driving. And listening.)
Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson
Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear and the other nine books that follow in this Historical Fiction/Mystery series.
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie (and anything else by her).
A Little Humor:
How To Tell If Your Cat Is Plotting To Kill You by Matthew Inman (Working with her keeps the days interesting and fun!)
What books do you keep hearing that you MUST read?
