It’s hard to believe that it’s been one year since this site began. (Actual date was on Monday April, 28…but things have been hectic with reviews and such.) I have met such wonderful people and the support has been wonderful. I can’t say enough about this past year as a blogger and most importantly as a reader. Missing my in person book club pushed me to start this blog, giving me an outlet to share what literature means to me.
So, I was trying to think of what to give away as this anniversary approached. And then the stars aligned just so. The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry is one of my favorite books this year. It’s a book about books, the love for books, how people connect through literature and how books fill you up. But most importantly it reminds the reader how important independent bookstores are. What they mean to a community.
And wouldn’t you know. The lovely Gabrielle Zevin was making an appearance at an indie bookstore near my home. So I excitedly made the drive to Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville. She was lovely and eloquent and sincere about her love for bookstores where she spent most of her youth.
“Wonderful things can be found in all genres.”
“Reading connects us in ways that are unexpected.”
So for the giveaway…one signed copy of The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry, a Book Jigs bookmark (my favorite bookmark) and Page Flags to mark all your favorite parts.
