Indie Rock/Folk band, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, released their anticipated self-titled third album today July 23rd, 2013. I can’t wait to get my hands on it!! But was even more excited to find this exclusive backstage footage of them recently at Bonnaroo performing two of their new songs live, “Better Days” and “They Were Wrong”. I’ll have to settle for live concert footage in the comfort of my home for now but seeing them in person is definitely on my bucket list. The official video for “Better Days” is worth checking out as well. They used 80’s footage from Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo and Beat Street to really emphasize the feel good nature of the song. http://youtu.be/0GSLAZg3n8I
Then they play one of my favorites, “Man on Fire”, from their second album titled Here.
If you think you’re not familiar with them chances are you’ve already heard their song, “Home”, from their first album Up From Below (2009) on the Blue Cross Blue Shield commercial.

It is one of the coolest band sites I have ever wasted so much time on. And this quote from the site’s band page sums up the music that is so addicting regarding their second album; “Relix Magazine hailed it as “an album full of undeniable folk-rock hooks, gospel overtones, infectious lyrics, orchestral swells and a whole lot of love.” Entertainment Weekly declared, “…they’ve got so much heart, they can crush hipster irony with one squeeze of the accordion.”
